Turtles produce organic waste in a variety of ways; as they grow, they continuously shed parts of their shell as well as skin. During feeding, they rip and tear at food with their nails and produce copious quantities of waste. This is tough on filters and easily surpasses existing biological flora capacities within their habitat unless Exo Terra Turtle Clean is employed.
